Although cell phones can be used for positive purposes, more often than not they are a distraction during home learning. Studies show that even the presence of a cell phone in the place where you are working reduces your ability to focus, as well as those around you. And it’s no wonder! It’s hard to concentrate with access to friends, games, social networks, news…all at your fingertips. So before sitting down for home learning, put your phone in a place where you can’t see it. It doesn’t have to be in another room but certainly far enough away that you won’t be tempted to pick it up when you get bored or feel like procrastinating. Get the work done first and then reward yourself with time on the phone.
