Gaglardi Academy's Senior Boys volleyball team traveled to Duncan Oct. 11 for an invitational 1-day tournament. The boys played extremely well winning all 3 preliminary games in 6 straight sets to be the #1 seed in their pool.
They played Nanaimo Christian in the semi-final and beat them in 2 straight sets, playing wonderful, solid volleyball.
The boys hadn't lost a set all day and went to face the home team Duncan Christian in the final. Our boys won the first set 25-22 and were only 1 set away from winning the tournament. They ended up losing the second set (first loss of the day) in extra points 25-27 and were forced to a final 3rd set to decide the champion. Our boy fought hard but lost 10-15.
The boys captured second place and turned the eyes of many to the skill and attitudes of our boys. They played high energy volleyball and fought hard every step of the way.
The boys have their final league games at Isfeld Oct. 23. If you haven't seen them play, come out and cheer them on!
They have the Island Championships on Nov. 5, and have their eyes set on becoming the first-ever Gaglardi sports team to go to Provincials!
Go Arrows!!!
